I have always worked best in loose gestures and intentional but imprecise strokes. The actions mirror the turbulence of my thoughts, the constant thrum of my brain. I think that is a big part of why I am drawn to the imperfections of mixed-media. I feel myself in the physical feeling of paint, in the tears in the paper, in the distortion and fracturing of the image. I have always liked things a bit grungy and misshapen, with an overflow of texture. That is what my mixed-media work feels like to me. I take my existing photography and transform it via printmaking techniques into a new version of itself. I listen to music and visualize it through a mix of digital motion graphics and traditional frame-by-frame animation. My work is a collage of all my favorite parts of me, a love letter to the imperfections of my mediums.
