About

Kenneth Brown’s artistic journey is rooted in a lifelong fascination with science fiction and a deeply imaginative way of seeing the world. An out-of-the-box thinker by nature, Brown has always been drawn to creativity as both a form of expression and a way of navigating life’s challenges and opportunities. Earning a college football scholarship gave him the opportunity to pursue higher education while balancing discipline, determination, and artistic passion. He graduated with a degree in Fine Arts, blending athletic dedication with creative exploration. Throughout his life, his artistic abilities became a valuable resource, leading to numerous side projects and commissioned works for staff, colleagues, friends, and associates. Along the way in his early career, Kenneth developed the creation that would become his lifelong passion: a unique line of sci-fi characters designed with human and dinosaur bone armor. Though his visionary concept never made it to the big screen, he continued to expand and evolve his universe through social media, concept development, and 3D resin designs. His dedication to these characters reflects both his persistence as a creator and his commitment to bringing imaginative worlds to life through evolving artistic mediums. Today, Brown’s creative narrative extends beyond traditional artwork into the craftsmanship of handmade wood products. His work reflects a fusion of imagination, functionality, and personal storytelling. Specializing in handcrafted lazy susans, he approaches woodworking with the same inventive spirit that has shaped his artistic vision for years. Whether through visual art or functional design, Kenneth Brown continues to create pieces that embody originality, craftsmanship, and the enduring influence of science fiction-inspired creativity.

Artist Statement

My work is driven by a love of materials, craft, and imaginative design. In my wood pieces — from lazy susans to decorative surfaces — I focus on how carved lines, vinyl overlays, and resin interact with the natural grain. I enjoy the hands‑on process of shaping, carving, and finishing each piece, letting the materials guide the final look. I also create a series of original sci‑fi characters: humans armored with stylized dinosaur bone structures. I design them digitally, 3D print them in resin, and hand paint each figure. Some are mounted on wood bases, bringing my sculptural and woodworking practices together. Across all my work, I’m interested in how materials can tell stories — whether through the texture of wood, the movement of resin, or the imagined worlds behind my characters. My goal is to create pieces that invite curiosity and highlight the blend of craftsmanship and creativity that defines my practice.
