About

I earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a Computer Option, but my passion for the arts never left me. When my daughter began kindergarten, I seized the opportunity to return to my creative roots, enrolling in drawing, painting, and ceramics courses at a local community college. Over the years, I had the privilege of studying under several technically accomplished professors who deepened both my skills and artistic perspective. It was the tactile experience of clay. Its responsiveness, its transformation in my hand that I found truly exhilarating. The process of shaping three-dimensional forms awakened something profound in me, and I felt an undeniable pull toward ceramics that continues to inspire my work today.

Artist Statement

My art continues to evolve as a reflection of my life’s journey, shaped by growth, challenge, and transformation. The mountains that appear in my work symbolize stability, resilience, strength, determination, courage, and enduring beauty. Like the landscape, we all encounter seasons of change, love and joy, sorrow and struggle, courage and peace. It is through these experiences that we are shaped and strengthened, learning to persevere and hold on to hope. My work is inspired by nature, and I believe that communing with nature not only heals one’s soul but completes it. Working with clay allows me to engage with the earth, and the imagery I apply to the forms continues this motif. I aim to bring the beauty of the natural world into your home, whether it's enjoyed during your morning coffee, at the dining table, as a decorative centerpiece, or as wall art.
