About

Madison von Casper is an interdisciplinary artist from Haughton, Louisiana, now based in Shreveport. Her practice spans painting, digital media, sculpture, and installation, often combining traditional and experimental materials to build highly personal visual narratives. Madison studied graphic design at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and The Kansas City Art Institute, where she was awarded the Presidential Scholarship. She began pursuing art at a young age and earned early recognition by receiving the Visual Image of ArtBreak Award in 2013. Her work is held in private collections across the United States. Outside of studio practice, she is also known for her seasonal window paintings and community-centered art projects, bringing her creativity into public spaces throughout the Shreveport–Bossier area.

Artist Statement

My work is a reflection of personal healing—an active, ongoing attempt to process the experiences and trauma that have shaped me. I approach artmaking as a space where emotion becomes physical: where memory, fragmentation, softness, and tension can exist together. Working across multiple mediums allows me to communicate in ways that a single material cannot. Each piece becomes a part of my emotional archive, translating internal landscapes into color, texture, repetition, and form. Vulnerability is central to my practice; by revealing what is often hidden, I aim to create a connection between my personal story and the viewer’s own experiences. My goal is not to resolve the past, but to give it shape—transforming pain, growth, and resilience into imagery that invites empathy, introspection, and shared understanding.
