Artist Statement
I live and work near my home town in Texas. My goal is to always capture a moment in time, of the transient nature of a body of water, the textures of a flower, or object, and in turn, take the viewer to that place or put them in the presence of that flower or object. Creating is a passion for me.
I start every painting with a general vision, but I often have a serendipitous discovery that takes the finished painting somewhere that I had not planned initially. As an art major in college and then as high school art teacher for several years, I was exposed to a lot of master artists in Art History, along with the many art styles, techniques and mediums and those experiences continue to be a large influence on my work.
