Artist Statement
My work explores emotion, memory, humor, and human connection through painting, fine art, and installation-based practices. I’m interested in the quiet emotional details people carry beneath the surface — loneliness, nostalgia, aging, identity, and the tension between public life and private thought.
I’m drawn to creating work that feels personal but accessible, blending reflection with moments of wit, discomfort, or familiarity. Whether through painting, larger visual concepts, or immersive work, I want the viewer to recognize something of themselves in the experience.
Having lived in Texas, California, and now Indiana, place and transition influence much of my perspective. My work is shaped by movement, observation, and the search for connection in environments that can feel both crowded and isolating.
At its core, my practice is about storytelling through visual experience — creating work that invites people to pause, reflect, laugh a little, and feel less alone.
