Artist Statement
I am a photographer, printmaker, and digital artist in McKinney, Tx. I began my art journey later in life after ignoring artistic urges for decades only to discover in my forties that I was adopted and biologically came from a family of creators. My current preferred mediums are Linocut printmaking, photography, digital photo manipulation, and digital art. I enjoy a Pop Art style often using movies and musicians as my subject matter for printmaking, digital art, and digital photo manipulation. My photography has focused mainly on nature (storms, landscapes, and floral / insect macros), abandoned buildings and vehicles, along with using a light box to create my own still-life shots and initial images for digital photo manipulation.My hope is that my art will connect with people and dislodge a hidden memory of a favorite song or seeing a great movie. I also hope some of my creations can simply bring some beauty, intrigue, or humor into someone's life. I enjoy viewing and collecting art as much as I do creating it and these are the same things that draw me to particular artists and pieces of art.
