About

When a seven-year-old uses scraps of plastic, rubber bands, and paper clips to craft a toy boat that floats and moves, any parent would immediately envision a couple different futures for their child: architect or engineer. Today, Christopher Morris, the artist behind Chris Ryan Design, is both a professional artist and an Architect, and his unmistakable Airstream RV has become a traveling gallery for his bold, vibrant work. It is part showroom, part experience, and completely impossible to miss. His creative instinct showed up early. As a restless child sitting in a church pew on Sunday mornings, Chris was handed a pencil and a church program by his mother and told to draw, a familiar solution for busy little hands and imaginative minds. What filled those pages were more than simple doodles. They were early signs of a creative voice that was already beginning to take shape. There is something remarkable about people who seem to arrive in the world already carrying the outline of who they will become. The details sharpen over time, of course, but the essence is there from the beginning. Chris feels like one of those rare people. The drawings that once covered church programs have evolved into artwork that is crisp, joyful, and instantly recognizable. His work carries a kind of bright, polished wonder - the sort of visual delight that feels both sophisticated and childlike at once. There is playfulness in it, but also precision. Whimsy, but with intention. And yes, he really is an architect. Even more fitting, his work is centered in sacred architecture, designing churches and spaces meant to inspire reflection, beauty, and connection. That same sense of purpose runs through his art. Guided by his mantra, “God First,” Chris uses his gifts in a way that feels deeply personal and generously outward-facing. - 760 MAGAZINES
