About

At a small farm in Boyd, Texas, Ritchie and I have been beekeepers since 1999. Our company Bee Charmer and sister company DFW Bee Chamer remove live honeybee nests and relocate hives into wooden beehive boxes. Our beehives are located in our front yard and backyard. They are surrounded by our garden of basil, spearmint, and aromatic flowers of herbs and vegetables. I, Christine, teach honeybee classes on our little stamp of land of 6 acres. Classes are even provide to the very young. We find that many home school children love this field trip. Honeybees are important to our environment? Did you know that one out of three bites of food are pollinated by the honeybees? Did you know, only the eggplant can be pollinated by honeybees? Beeswax is used for furniture, polish, for rain retardant, and is used in soaps, lotions, and makeup. Propolis is made by the honeybee and is used as a glue for their combs. It can even be used for health benefits. Their pollen can also be used for health benefits as well. Honey is used as a sweetener for cereals, desserts, not to mention, used for health benefits!

Artist Statement

We use the honeybee products such as propolis, beeswax as well as honey to make our lotion bars, candles, lip balm and goat milk soaps. The fragrances are from Lone Star Candle company in Keller, Texas. And the goat milk is provided by our neighbor Marie down the street. I use the lotion bar to heal from burns, insect bites as well as mosquito bites. Ritchie uses the soap for his scalp and the lotion bar for his beard. It’s been a pleasure being a beekeeper since 1999. I learn from them each and every day and I urge you to learn from them too!
