Alyce Glazer Levy is a Louisiana native, now Dallas-based artist working in acrylic, resin, and porcelain under her studio name Modern Slice. Her work begins with color. Bold, uncompromising palette combinations she describes as poetry made visual, applied to wood slices, cradled wood canvases, and hand-formed porcelain. A former graphic designer, Levy brings a designer's instinct for distillation to her painting: shapes are decisive, color does the heavy lifting, and nothing is accidental. Her butterfly wall installations have been collected by homes and hospitality spaces across Texas and Colorado. She lives and works in Dallas.
