Artist Statement
I create hand-carved linocut designs that I hand print onto different types of canvases, like paper and fabric. My designs often reflect images of in nature, like flowers, landscapes, and other plants. I've always connected with and been drawn to nature, and always loved creating images of it. When I was a child, I would draw flowers and mountains with chalk on my driveway or in a sketchbook with crayons. That passion grew to become the art I create today. The prints I create are often inspired by significant events or emotions I've experienced in my life, typically with my faith or with the people in my life. I love to capture emotion on a canvas and will often draw and create as an outlet. I've dreamt of working as an artist for as long as I can remember, and creating images that other people can connect to is an indescribably fulfilling experience.
