Artist Statement
My artwork is rooted in a lifelong relationship with imagination, exploration, and the natural world. Growing up in rural Texas, the outdoors was my first canvas—a place where cedar tree groves became fortresses and the dirt was a playground for Barbies and Matchbox cars. That same childhood sense of untamed curiosity resurfaced years later when I first experimented with UV resin. Instantly, I was captivated by its fluid potential and driven by a single, guiding question: What if?
Rather than utilizing resin merely as a protective glaze, I treat it as a sculptural component. I manipulate the material to build three-dimensional depth, questioning its limits and discovering new ways it can interact with mixed media. This constant pursuit of "What if?" allows me to transform standard surfaces into dynamic, dimensional landscapes.
By challenging the expectations of this medium, I look to bridge the gap between structure and imagination.
Ultimately, my work is an invitation to pause and wonder. My goal is to ignite the same imaginative spark in the viewer that I feel in the studio.
