Gabrielle and Michael Huang

We’re Michael and Gabrielle—Mike and Gab—a Houston-based husband-and-wife pottery duo. We first met while rock climbing, a passion we still share, and it continues to inspire our work. Our ceramics reflect a deep appreciation for the outdoors, expressed through earthy glazes and organic forms. As a first-generation Chinese American, Michael draws on his heritage by incorporating subtle Asian-inspired elements into his pieces, honoring his family’s roots through design. We began working with clay in 2020 and quickly became captivated by the medium. Today, we create each piece by hand in our Midtown home studio, approaching every form with care and intention. Michael specializes in hand-building and sculptural work, while Gabrielle focuses on wheel throwing—complementary practices that shape our collaborative process.
