About

Kristine Williams was born and raised, in the rural community of Big Spring, Texas. Early life was deeply defined by the dusty red dirt, of the Permian Basin, and the rich culture of her Latino heritage. Growing up in West Texas, she was surrounded by cotton fields, cattle ranches, oil wells, and stunning sunsets. It was then that she learned the value of patience, natural beauty, and narrative. Finding her canvas in the quiet isolation of Big Spring, Williams taught herself the fundamentals as a child, using mixed-media such as repurposed paint, old paintings, chalk from drywall, wood scraps, old canvases, metal pieces, clay, and later refined her techniques, and skills with more sophisticated mediums such as acrylics, water colors, oil pastels, and raw canvases. Her signature style creates pieces that feel authentically tied to Texas, while pushing the boundaries of contemporary western design. Williams’s work, including murals, have been featured in homes, and businesses, across the Lone Star State, and Oklahoma. Recent showcases include the Latino Cultural Center gallery, in Dallas Texas. She is mostly self taught, but does have formal Art training from Howard College, and Cameron University. Her signature style carries traditional acrylic painting, with western elements, as well as strong devotional influences. However, it’s her distinctive approach to the Western motif, that continues to captivate collectors, who seek a piece of the untamed Texas spirit.
