About

My name is Kareen, and I am the owner and creator of Enid b., an artisan skincare company with a focus on using organic and locally sourced ingredients. I started my business in 2013 when I couldn't find a natural brand on the market to remedy my severely dry skin. After sharing jars of the first formulation of my Shea Body and Hair Butter with friends who asked for more, my company, Enid b. named in honor of my Jamaican grandmother, was born. With my love for plants and my design background, I create skincare products that not only tell a story but help my customers with their various skin issues like dry skin, acne, hair loss, and more. I love to use ingredients like clays and herbs to create beautiful designs that bring joy to my customers. My product line includes my shea body and hair butters, artisanal soaps made for the face and body, shampoo bars, hair oils, sugar scrubs, face oils, and more. I source some of my ingredients locally, like my goat's milk that I purchase from Bonton Farms in South Dallas, and many of the herbs that I use in my products I grow in my "farm to product" garden.

Artist Statement

I am an artisan soap maker and herbal formulator based in North Texas, creating small-batch skincare through my brand, Enid b. My work is rooted in my Jamaican heritage, community gardening, and a deep respect for plant-based traditions. Using botanical ingredients, locally sourced materials, and herbs grown by hand, I craft soaps and body care products that transform everyday rituals into moments of grounding and care. For me, soap is more than just cleansing; it is a blend of memory, agriculture, chemistry, and art. As an educator, I teach hands-on workshops that demystify the making process and reconnect people to what they put on their skin. Through both product and practice, my work invites others to slow down, engage their senses, and experience skincare as a meaningful ritual.
