Artist Statement
My work comes from reflection on self, on others, and on the space between what’s said and what’s felt. It’s shaped by lived experiences, conversations, thoughts that surface late at night when everything else goes quiet. I’m interested in the emotional residue we carry. The fears, desires, contradictions, and memories that define us but often go unspoken.
Visually, I strip away excess identity markers to focus on shared human emotion. By minimizing distinctions like race, gender, or belief, I create space for the viewer to connect through feeling rather than category. The figures in my work often exist in suspended moments caught between clarity and confusion, release and restraint. These internal pauses of reflecting are ones we all experience while navigating growth and change. Each piece builds on the last, looping back on itself the way life does. Consequently, creating a visual archive of the moments we wish could last forever and those we’d rather forget.
