Artist Statement
Astrid Mardon-Prevost launched Alexille late 2015 after a trip to France when she realized it was time to satisfy her need for making, creating, designing.
Astrid handcrafts all her pieces at her home in Austin, TX. She sees her creations as Bohemian chic jewelry with a Southwestern touch and a French flair in a neutral and elegant palette.
She loves to mix textures - rough vs smooth, sheen - matte vs shiny, materials - leather vs crystals. It gives a more organic quality to the pieces and the neutral tones a more "elegant" feel. She mixes her French roots with her love for Austin, Tx. Like boasting a cowboy hat while wearing a strand of pearls.
